Two years ago, me would see me now if they’d be astonished. I’m a Jose Batista at my side director at Smith Elementary. Working with kids, we have this thing called Maker. You forget how creative it can be when you’re so young. The imagination that you have, and all these things. Some of the kids are leaders. And seeing that with them, you know, only be nine years old. And it’s awesome. I was, you know, never very outspoken. I was fresh out of high school. You know, I was barely starting out with my associates. I had never worked any job before. I talked to all kinds of parents, teachers, staff. I can keep my head up high, my shoulders now, back. I was then more confident in myself, you know. For me, to get this from Alphabet, out of anywhere else, that says a lot about the company. And it says a lot about the staff that I work for. You know, you learn to work with a lot of people with different backgrounds. You learn to solve problems with them. Because of the kids, you know, not every day’s going to be the same. And so you really have to lean on your team, the team has to lean on you. If you want to come work with Alphabet, go for it. Alphabet always has my back. For anything. I don’t live here for anything.

"AlphaBEST always has my back. Literally for anything."

Jose Bautista, Site Director, Wylie, TX

"The schedule lets me work around my classes, and I'm getting real experience for my education degree."

Questions, answered.

In most AlphaBEST programs, team members must meet the minimum age, education, and training requirements of childcare licensing agencies in order to be able to work independently with a group of students. While some states may have additional guidelines, what matters most is reliability, a positive attitude, and a passion for working with kids. Experience is a plus, but we’ll train you for success.

Work hours and scheduling options depend on the services AlphaBEST provides at the particular school district you are applying to work in. Our preference is to hire individuals who are flexible to work during all program hours so that there is consistency for the students and student-to-staff ratios are maintained. However, we understand that many of our team members balance school and other commitments. We will try our best to work with your availability. In areas where AlphaBEST has summer programs, we have year-round employment opportunities. Our summer programs continue to grow each year, and our goal is to provide as many opportunities for year-round work as possible!

Absolutely! Many of our team members join AlphaBEST while pursuing their education or transitioning into a new career path. If you enjoy working with children, bring a positive attitude, and are eager to learn, we encourage you to apply.

Whether you’re gaining experience for a future career in education, looking for flexible work while attending school, or exploring a new professional direction, AlphaBEST offers training, support, and opportunities to grow while making a meaningful impact in students’ lives.

Yes! Eligible AlphaBEST team members receive an 80% discount on regular tuition rates for before-school, after-school, and summer camp programs. This benefit is available for eligible dependents who live in the same household and qualify as dependents for tax purposes. We’re proud to support our team members and their families by helping make our programs more accessible and affordable.

In order to work with students in our program, training includes a blend of mandatory state training, along with training and information from AlphaBEST, which enables you to do your job to the best of your ability! We partner with AB Studios to use a video-facilitated curriculum that requires you to bring your energy and passion for learning to the table as you pause the videos and engage with students to do fun activities related to the lesson.

If you bring your love of helping students learn and grow, AlphaBEST provides the resources you need to guide our students on a fun-filled adventure each day!
