Who is AlphaBEST?

AlphaBEST Education has been providing before and after school programs since 2005. We currently serve approximately 30,000 students in 17 states. Family is important to us. We are a family-owned business and we take pride in the relationships we build with students, their parents, district staff, our staff, and the local communities that we become part of.

What are AlphaBEST programs like?

At AlphaBEST, we believe in the power of wonder, enabling and encouraging children to use their innate sense of imagination as we expand their horizons. We do far more than provide a safe, nurturing environment for children before and after school — we create rich, immersive experiences through a variety of enrichment activities including coding & robotics, digital animation, engineering, drama, arts, fitness, and more.

We provide a schedule that includes homework time, snacks, outdoor play, our signature enrichment curriculum every day, and student-choice clubs to round out each day.

Is a snack provided?

A daily snack is provided every day. Students are welcome to bring their own nut-free snacks from home if they prefer. All surfaces are cleaned before and after snack, and all students will wash their hands prior to eating

Who are AlphaBEST staff?

At AlphaBEST, we pride ourselves on our incredible staff members. Our staff will always be immediately visible for school administration, parents, and students. You’ll recognize them by: AlphaBEST identification badge, and branded tee-shirt. AlphaBEST follows all procedures and regulations related to a licensed Child Care program, including all staff passing numerous fingerprinted background checks. All staff participate in an extensive training program which provides everything they need to know about operating a safe and inclusive program for our students.

Does AlphaBEST operate on holidays and partial days?

The answer to this depends on your specific school district. If your district allows, we will operate camps during most national holidays. If your child’s school is closed due to weather or other unpredictable circumstances, AlphaBEST will likely not operate either.

Can you accommodate my special needs child?

AlphaBEST believes in creating learning environments where all children are welcome, and that includes children with special needs. Our staff receives special training to ensure that children with special needs can increase their skills and build their potential in meaningful, authentic enrichment opportunities. We will collaborate with our Inclusion Specialists, families, and schools to ensure that your child has every opportunity to be successful in our program. To discuss your specific needs, please contact your Area Manager.

How do you handle behavioral issues?

AlphaBEST employs a Tiered System of Supports we call Creating Connected Communities. All students actively participate in building the foundation for our after-school community, where they discuss the importance of their community, the rules, and respecting and welcoming each other. When students struggle within those parameters, our staff will provide additional support to that student and will share the progress with the family. If additional supports are not successful, our staff will arrange a meeting with the family to explore additional options.

How do you keep students safe & healthy?

Student safety is a top priority for AlphaBEST. Our staff are trained in all emergency procedures and drills that align with each specific school and district. In addition to preparedness for responding to weather, earthquakes, fires, and intruders, staff are trained in first aid, including CPR, airborne illnesses, epi-pen administration, etc. Staff clean all surfaces regularly, and students wash hands periodically before snack and at other designated times during the program.

How do I register and pay?

Go to www.alphabest.org and click on “Locations” to find your location. The Enroll Now button on that page will take you to our student enrollment system.

Can I change my child’s schedule?

To request a schedule change, contact the Customer Care Team at customercare@alphabest.org or call 866-300-7750 one week prior to the change date.

When is tuition due?

Weekly payments are due every Monday. Monthly payments are due the first Monday of each month.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes! We are pleased to offer our families a variety of discounts. Discounts available for your school are shown on our website page for your school district. To apply for a discount, please go to: https://www.alphabest.org/discounts/

Do you offer financial aid?

Scholarships and state subsidized aid are available in most regions. Please contact us for additional information.

Can I get a refund when my child is absent?

Sorry, we do not provide refunds for absences such as illness and vacation. Your tuition holds the space in our program.

 

AlphaBEST’s program was canceled today due to weather. Will I get a refund?

No refunds will be given for programs that are canceled because of school closures due to weather or other issues out of our control.

 

Are we charged for days that school is not in session?

Tuition is based on the number of school days in the academic calendar year and does not bill for holidays and other planned school days off. The total tuition for the academic year is divided into equal weekly or monthly payments.

 

What is your FEIN (tax ID number)?

Our FEIN# is 20-2042559.

 

How can I get my receipts for tax purposes or dependent care reimbursement?

This can be accessed through your Kangarootime parent portal or by contacting your Customer Care specialist. When payments are made, a receipt is automatically emailed to you.

How To Mark Your Child Absent

Hello, in this video I will be addressing how one can manage their child’s attendance in the KT Connect app. This includes marking a child absent. After logging into the KT Connect app, tap on the Attendance tile. You will be prompted with the current month, however, if you would like to schedule a future absence, tap on the month in the top left corner. This will allow you to jump ahead by either tapping the month drop down menu, or by scrolling to the right and tapping on the desired day. You will notice that there are blue dots on certain days of the week. This simply means that there is a scheduled booking for that day. Once you have located the desired day, you will have an option to mark a child absent by tapping on the mark absent link. You will be prompted with the session information you are marking your child absent for, and will have options to choose from as to why the child will be absent that day.Once  you have made your choice, tap Confirm, you will now notice that the session changes to absent. How To Re-Enroll Your Child Via KT Connect

Hello, in this video I will be addressing how one can manage their child’s enrollment in KT Connect. This includes re-enrolling in your current school or signing up for a different program at a new school. After logging into the KT Connect app, tap on the hamburger menu located in the top left corner of the screen. Next, tap Manage Enrollments. You will be taken to the online enrollment portal where you will be prompted to input either the email or phone number that is associated with your contact profile. In other words, the email or phone number you use to log into KT Connect. After you put that information in, tap the Get Verification Code button. Once you receive the verification code, enter it in the available field and tap the Verify button. Now you will be able to view existing applications and have the ability to start a new one by tapping the new application button. Next, you can decide either to choose your existing school or a new one by tapping the Select New Center link. You can search for the new school by either the name, state or zip code. Once located, tap the school you wish to enroll your child in and tap the Next button. Now select the children you wish to enroll or add a new child by tapping on the Add Another Child link. If applicable, select if your child will be eligible for subsidy. Once you have made your selections, tap on the Next button. Now you will be presented with program groups you wish to look through. Tap on the Desire program groups and tap the Next button. Now select the specific programs you wish to enroll your child into. Select the child or children you are enrolling into the chosen program and choose their planned attendance. If you are interested in a flexible schedule, toggle the I Want Flexible Scheduling Switch to On. This will remove the option to select permanent booking days. Once you have picked out the desired attendance, tap the Save button. Once you are all set with choosing programs, tap the Next button. Take a moment to review your enrollment choices and then tap the Confirm and Continue button. You will now be directed to your school’s enrollment form. Please go through the form and fill out all required questions. Once you are finished, take a moment to review. After you submit, the application will then be sent to Customer Care for approval. How To Schedule A Flex Day

Hello, in this video I will be addressing how one can manage their child’s attendance in the KT Connect app. This includes booking a flex day. After logging into the KT Connect app, tap on the attendance tile. You will be prompted with the current month and a view of existing scheduled days. To schedule a flex day, tap on the Schedule New Booking button on the bottom of the screen. You will be prompted with the current month, but if you are interested in scheduling further into the future, tap on the month and select the proper month or scroll to the right while under the initial view. Once you have chosen the day or days, you would like to schedule a flex day 4, tap the View Availability button. If a spot is available, you will then have a program option to select. After tapping on the available option, tap the Review button. Once you confirm that everything looks in order, tap Confirm. How To View Billing Information

Hello, in this video I will be addressing how one can manage their billing information in the KT Connect app. This includes viewing and paying your bill, along with how to access your past billing statements. After logging into the KT Connect app, tap on the Accounts tile. On this page, you can take several billing-related actions like making a manual payment. To access any of these features, tap on the desired category. For example, to make a manual payment, tap on the Make a Payment Row. Next, tap on the Payment Amount link. On this page, you have an option to either pay the amount due, your total balance, or a different amount. To pay a custom amount, tap on the Option label other and enter in the desired amount. Once the amount is entered, tap Done. Finally, review the Payment Amount, select a Payment method, and tap the Pay Now button. To view your bill, tap on the Itemize Bills row, and tap the View Itemize Bill button on the desired bill. To download, tap on the Arrow icon located in the top right corner of the screen. To view your Account statements, tap on the Account statements row. You will have the option to view yearly or monthly statements by toggling between yearly or monthly. Once located, tap on the desired statement to view. If you wish to download, tap on the Arrow icon located in the top right corner of the screen. To view your payments, tap on the View Payment History Row. Here you can view pending payments and completed payments based on the time frame set on the filter located at the top of the screen. To investigate a failed payment, tap on the payment and read the description. To manage your payment methods, tap on the Payment Methods row. On this page, you will have the ability to add a new payment method by tapping the Add Account button. You may also designate a default payment method by tapping into an existing payment method, entering the CCV Security Code, checking the default payment method checkbox, and tapping the Save button. To manage Auto Pay, tap the Manage Auto Pay Row, and choose which payment method you would prefer to have on Auto Pay. After tapping on your choice, tap the Save button.
