Hello, my name is Brenda King, and my journey with AlphaBest began in 2019 as a Site Director.  After leaving corporate America as a Claims and Risk Management Analyst in 2018, I wanted to use my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education) with the dream of making a difference in the lives of children, which led me to work with the Portsmouth Public School system as a long term Substitute Teacher.  As a mother with an adult son with autism, my journey with him has allowed me to bring a nurturing spirit that so many of our children need.  I am currently pursuing a second degree in Psychology from SNHU.  In my spare time, I enjoy being my son’s biggest cheerleader during bowling tournaments with the Special Olympics of Virginia, crafting, and family game night.  I am so excited to work with parents, students, and school administrators by providing an environment of fun and memorable learning experiences.
